For this week I played Spider Solitaire Mon- Fri for at least 45 mins each day
Nothing on Saturday and Sunday: Zombies Inc. on the internet and played for about and hour. I have played each of these games before and the reason for why I choose to them was because they were on my mind on the time and that I found them to be entertaining and they left me in a relaxed mood when I finished them
Mon-Fri: Played Pinball on the computer, played from 4p.m.-5p.m
Sat: Played Superman Returns on Xbox 360 played from 3:30-4p.m
Sun: Played Megas XLR vs. the Universe from 2:30p.m-3p.m
I have played each of these games before and what made me choose them was they were on my mind at some point that day or that the mood just struck me. Only for the console game did the mood that that start out in was neutral and when I finished I felt the same way. The same starting mood was present with the other games and the ending mood was somewhat borderline addicted as in it was somewhat hard to stop playing. What I did notice about the games was that the computer games had a addicting feeling of repetitiveness while when it came to the console game that feeling did not provide the same enjoyment. What I did notice when I played Megas XLR something that I did notice when I had not played it before was that the different effects the characters had when played.
Mon-Fri: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows 4p.m-6p.m
Sat: Badminton 3p.m-5:30p.m
Sun: Brain Age 2 on Nintendo DS 4pm-5pm
I have played each of these games before. What made me choose the video games was that I have not played them for some time and wanted to see how it would feel playing them again and in the case of Spider-Man to play a new game instead of one that was previously finished. As for badminton it was something to do with family and just wanted to participate in it. The only thing that I did not notice in the game before was that the choices that are made in the game depending on how it is played can lead to different types of endings which I did not notice before from simply making the “good” choices within the game and I thought it would all lead to the same ending but it does not. Overall what stood out to me about it was the combat mechanics, and the mood that I was in for each of them was at first to start off with a feeling of interest and then to steadily feel that interest level decline until I stopped.
Mon:-Finn&Bones 3:30-6:00p.m.
Tues: Acid Panic! 3:00-5:30p.m
Wed: 8 Ball Pool 4:30 -6p.m.
Thurs: Achilles II 4-6p.m
Fri: Tetris 3:30-5:30p.m
Sat: iStunt 2 3:00-5:30p.m
Sun: Assassin’s Creed III 9:30-10:30p.m
I have never actually played any of these games and it was my first time trying each of them. What I really noticed about them was how enjoyable and addictive the internet games can be compared to console games as Assassin’s Creed. I am familiar with its predecessors so I have already do have some form of familiarity with the narrative and controls, however not much with the game itself. The reason that I picked each of these games was for each of the online games was a chance to try something new and experience a new game and for Assassin’s Creed to get a start on the game to find out more behind the narrative of that story. The mood I was in when I started to play each of these games was of curiosity and when I finished I had a feeling of satisfaction. Since this was my first time playing each of these games there was nothing different that I did not notice before and as far as game play elements stood out was that the simply thing concept of doing one task on an online game with only one or two controls could actually hold longer enjoyment personally than a console game where unless when not specifically instructed there is complete freedom of what to do and not something specific.
Mon-Sun: Assassin’s Creed III 6:30-8p.m
The reason why I chose this game for each day of the week was to find out what would happen next with it till I beat it.
The mood I was in each day was having a somewhat obsessed feeling to start to see where the story would go next and at the end a feeling of satisfaction in a way that the amount of time spent on it was enough for one day
What stood out in terms of game play was the free running aspect of it. What I did started to pay closer attention to regarding aspects of the game world was that the cities and towns actually looked more realistic than some of the forests that were in it.
Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded
Mon-Sun: 3p.m.-4p.m.
I have played this game before and what made me chose this particular game for a source of reference and research for my project.
The mood that I was in during play was that it was more of a feeling of focus to attempt some of the different elements of the game that worked or could be of use. After wards it was a similar mood of focus and concentration to decipher what else it had that mad it enjoyable. Various aspects of the game play did stand out between some of the levels which were between either side-scrolling with 2.5 graphics or 3D and free roaming for the majority of the game.
What I was noticing about the game world that I did not notice before was overall how maze like the game really is as so many of the various locations are styles like a maze with a door at the end of a certain path
