Assignment:
For this week you must create a visual/pictographic language. You can choose to emulate the styles we viewed in class such as- hieroglyphs, cuneiform, mayan glyphs, etc… Your language can utilize – pictograms (pictures which resemble what they signify) and ideograms (pictures which represent ideas), it can use glyphs which correspond directly to letters and sounds, or it can use a combination of these methods. Most importantly it must be original.
Second you must come with a quote written in your visual language. The ‘alphabet’ you construct will serve as a key to help the class translate your quote.
For ease of translation please use English as part of your translation key.
